Born in Bursa in 1947, Master Puppeteer (Hayali) Şinasi Çelikkol is an internationally celebrated living guardian of UNESCO-inscribed traditional shadow theater. Honored as a UNESCO Living Human Treasure in 2024, he continues his craft inside the Karagöz Museum in Çekirge, Bursa.

Master Şinasi painstakingly carves translucent figures from specially tanned camel and cattle rawhide using historic curved 'nevrekân' chisels. Stained with organic plant extracts and illuminated from behind fine white muslin, his puppets come to life through his singular voice acting across dozens of characters.

Born in 1953, Master Adil Can Güven is recognized in Turkey's National Living Human Treasures inventory for resurrecting authentic 16th-century Ottoman royal quartz ceramics in historic İznik. Working alongside his artist wife Nursan Güven, his studio sits moments away from the İznik Historic Kilns Excavation.

A direct descendant of Bursa's historic sericulture families, Master Mehmet Ünal is the revered master weaver behind the revival of Bursa's imperial silk heritage. He spearheaded the restoration of the historic 1838 Muradiye Silk Mill and currently leads production at the Umurbey Silk Center. His work breathes living authenticity into the legendary Koza Han Silk Bazaar.

Master Turgut Aydemir is the dean of Bursa's 700-year-old Ottoman sword and cutlery forging tradition. Located in the historic blacksmiths' lane beside Kayhan Bazaar and the Bursa Grand Covered Bazaar, he shapes high-carbon blades manually on the anvil.
